For Teachers
Thirty children. Mixed ability. One of you. We built this for that.
Animal Bonds drills number bond fluency adaptively for every pupil, and shows you exactly who is stuck and where, without you marking a single thing.
Your classroom reality
You know which children are fluent and which are not. Roughly. You also know that roughly is not good enough, and that sitting next to each child while they drill bonds is not possible when there are 29 others doing maths.
Worksheets tell you who got the answer right. They do not tell you whether the child recalled it or worked it out. The child who took four seconds on 7+3 does not have the same problem as the child who answered in under one second, but on a worksheet they look identical.
What you get with Animal Bonds
Performance data for every pupil, per bond.
You sign in to the Curious Prism dashboard at app.curiousprism.co.uk, where each child's accuracy and average response time is shown for every fact they have practised. You can see at a glance which bonds each pupil is still working out, without waiting for a test.
See which bonds each pupil struggles with.
The dashboard shows accuracy and average speed per fact, per child, updated after every session. Spot who shares the same gaps and plan your intervention without extra admin.
No pupil email addresses needed.
Your school admin creates accounts: by bulk import from a spreadsheet or one at a time. Each child gets a login ID and auto-generated password. Admins can reset passwords. You do not manage any of it.
Less time on rote drilling.
When children are working through the game independently, you have time to give direct support to the children who need it most.
Automatic error pattern detection.
The dashboard does not just show a score: it tells you why a child is getting things wrong. The engine automatically detects a range of error patterns across subtraction, addition, and response speed. For example, it can distinguish a borrowing error (where a child is consistently 10 out on crossing-ten subtraction) from a near-miss pattern that suggests counting rather than recall. There are many patterns detected, and we are adding more all the time. No configuration needed. Results appear within seconds of a session ending.
Mark an insight as done, then track what is left.
Once you have worked with a child on an issue, you can mark that insight as done. From then on you only see newly arising issues for that pupil, so the dashboard stays focused on what still needs attention and you can check whether your intervention actually worked.

Take it off the screen
From the same dashboard, an Offline Resources screen turns your class data into paper. Print a "My tricky number bonds" worksheet for each pupil, built from their own weak bonds — the red and orange cells on their Brainbow and the misconceptions the engine has flagged. Student sheets hide the answers; a teacher answer key prints at the end.
Need something for everyone? Print one clean whole-class practice sheet for any level, choose how many copies, and get a single answer sheet with them. And for a change of pace, print the full Animal Bonds game pack: a self-checking flashcard deck, a "The Chase" board game, tokens and rules, all using the same bonds your children meet in the game.
Want to try it with your class?
We are accepting schools into a free pilot right now. Your admin can have the class set up quickly. No payment details.
